Company history
Bo-Box Company has been manufacturing and selling upholstered furniture by Finnish trademark. For a quarter of a century, the company's employees have been working on creating exclusive models of sofas, armchairs, and stools that have no analogues in Russia. The unique and original design of Bo-Box furniture, in combination with high quality and reasonable prices, is the hallmark of the company's products.
The history of the Company goes back to the 1980s. It was in the Finnish town of Kisko that Bo-Box company began manufacturing and selling furniture in Finland earning recognition and appreciation among Finnish consumers, as evidenced by the fact that at a furniture exhibition in 1985 in Helsinki, Hakala Pentti chair model – a prototype of the Boss brand chair - was voted the best piece of furniture at the event.
In the early 1990s Bo-Box was one of the first Finnish furniture company to enter the Russian market. At that time, Finnish furniture was delivered primarily to major cities such as St. Petersburg and Moscow. Sofas and chairs of unusual design, functional, stylish, and inexpensive, looked innovative and earned recognition among customers in St. Petersburg and Moscow. The transformation mechanism in these sofas, allowing to use them as chairs, beds and recliners in one, became known in Russia as “Finka” (Russian for “Finnish”). Today these mechanisms are better known as “Click-Clack.”
As the company grew, it significantly expanded its product line as well as the geography of sales. Today, Bo-Box products are represented in all regions of Russia.
Becoming a global player on the furniture market, and using international cooperation opportunities extensively, the company decided to relocate their production facilities from Finland to Russia and Southeast Asia. Upholstered furniture under the Bo-Box brand is manufactured in factories in Malaysia, China and St. Petersburg. But today, as a quarter of a century ago, all models of Bo-Box sofas, armchairs and stools are designed and tested in the Company’s head office in Finland. As a result, by dividing design and manufacturing facilities, the Company achieved a synergistic effect, which directly affected the performance of company products. Today Bo-Box Company furniture combines unique design and traditional Finnish quality with affordable prices.
